Celebration of the National Day for People of Determination

Mr. Issa Aziz Bouras, Wali of Aïn Defla Province, supervised on the morning of Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Emir Abdelkader Cultural Center in Aïn Defla, the festivities marking the celebration of the National Day for People of Determination, in the presence of:

  • the President of the Provincial People’s Assembly,
  • security, military, and civil authorities,
  • members of Parliament,
  • executive directors,
  • the head of the Aïn Defla district,
  • the president of the municipal people’s assembly of Aïn Defla,
  • and the Director of Social Action and Solidarity.

The celebration was held under the slogan: “Enhancing entrepreneurial capacities of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.”

The rich and diverse program was presented by children and individuals of determination from various specialized institutions, featuring theatrical and artistic performances that highlighted their creativity and exceptional talents.

The Wali and his accompanying delegation also visited the joint exhibition organized for the occasion, which included stands from different specialized institutions under the solidarity sector. They reviewed the efforts made in caring for this group, in addition to inspecting pedagogical workshops directed at children.

The main hall hosted a series of cultural and artistic activities, including:

  • Recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an.
  • Listening to the national anthem performed in sign language by students of the school for hearing-impaired children.
  • An opening speech delivered by the provincial director of social action and solidarity.
  • A play entitled “Embrace My Moon” presented by children of the psychopedagogical center for mentally disabled children in Aïn Defla.
  • A play entitled “Who Am I” presented by children of the school for the hearing-impaired in Aïn Defla.
  • A silent play entitled “The Road to Success” presented by residents of the psychopedagogical center for mentally disabled children in Ben Allal.
  • A Friday sermon delivered by a child from At-Tayssir kindergarten in Aïn Defla.
  • A silent play entitled “Lord, Admit Me to Paradise” presented by children of the psychopedagogical center for mentally disabled children in Aïn Defla.

In this context, the Wali supervised the distribution of medical equipment and devices to beneficiaries with disabilities, including:

  • Electric wheelchairs,
  • Hearing aids for hearing-impaired students,
  • Manual wheelchairs for adults and children,
  • Medical eyeglasses.

Children who won various sports competitions organized at Djilali Bounaama University in Khemis Miliana were honored, along with the distribution of vocational training certificates to trainees with disabilities in the fields of traditional cuisine and garden/park maintenance (October session).

University professors specializing in adapted physical activity, who supervised the organization of the 3rd edition of the sports competition for persons with disabilities in 2026, hosted by the Institute of Sports and Physical Activity Sciences at Djilali Bounaama University, were also honored.

On this occasion, the Wali extended his sincere congratulations to all people of determination, praising their strong will and creative abilities that reflect perseverance, resilience, and the transformation of challenges into achievements. He wished them a blessed celebration and continued success, while also saluting the families and educational teams who accompany them on their journey.

On the sidelines of the celebration, the Wali held a meeting with a group of people of determination, during which some concerns were discussed. He affirmed that local authorities will spare no effort in supporting and accompanying them, and in strengthening their integration into society.
